You were so helpful with everything and knowledgeable about all aspects, offering suggestions and even vendors. The staff at The Grand was outstanding! Millie was just awesome. She made us feel like celebrities! I have never heard of, or been on the receiving end of such attentive and great service. We had so many of our guests compliment them. Thanks for our special potatoes!! That was so cute of you to do that! We had a fabulous time; it was everything we dreamed of and more. My experience with McHale’s, Megan Foltz and the entire event staff that serviced our reception went above and beyond all expectation. I have and will continue to recommend McHale’s to all friends, family and co-workers. Megan was always very quick with responding and very accurate with her answers. The planning process for us was the most difficult to clearly envision. We had lots of questions and Melinda (Mathis) was there for us, each time offering assistance and suggestions to help allay our insecurities. She was very knowledgeable, as well as personable throughout the process. (Regarding the event) Wow! The entire wait staff was wonderfully attentive and conscientious! Kaitlyn was amazingly accommodating! The food got raves from everyone (which is no small feat with a group of 200) and the venue was gorgeous. We had people coming up to us all night commenting on such a remarkable reception! We were very proud to have our daughter’s reception at The Florentine!

We wanted to express our grateful appreciation for the outstanding reception we experienced on July 10th for our daughter and new son-in-law’s wedding!! The Grand looked spectacular, the staff was amazing and our guests had a wonderful time. The diligent planning that we had done with Melinda Mathis all winter paid off in dividends! Melinda was extremely professional, always answering my phone calls or emails in a timely manner, as well as offering solutions to the dilemmas we may have been discussing. She was very pleasant and was truly excited and engaged in planning our wedding reception. It was always convenient for her to meet with us, and she always made us feel like our event was of utmost importance. We appreciated her expertise, energy and enthusiasm greatly! On the evening of the reception, Millie was unbelievable! She had things orchestrated to perfection and had anticipated our needs, even before we thought of them! It was a relief to know that the entire staff at The Grand that evening was well informed about what was to happen, and were all working toward the same goal – and it showed!! The bartenders were very pleasant and cordial to us, as well as our guests and we appreciated that. We did not meet the fellow who was in charge of dishwashing that evening, but we can say that all of the glasses were sparkling and we appreciated his efforts on our behalf as well. Our daughter, Beth had a vision in her mind when we first walked into The Grand, and we can honestly say that her dream wedding came true! She appreciated the unique character of The Grand, with its woodwork, color scheme, beautiful windows and multi-floor arrangement to seat guests. Everything came together beautifully, and we will be forever grateful for the part The Grand played at a very special time in the life of our family. Megan was very helpful in providing us with the information and preparation needed to provide us with a flawless event. The day we were supposed to meet with the banquet manager to drop off wedding reception décor and other items, the banquet manager was unable to attend due to being sick. Megan was quick to help out and cover her absence. The overall event staff was exceptional.

We were pleased with the quality of the food and serving materials. Your staff was friendly and accommodating, and very respectful of the circumstances of the event. We were amazed when they refused the gratuity we offered, telling us to give it to my brother’s family instead. You truly uphold the concept of Southern Hospitality. Thanks again.

Melinda was extremely nice and helpful, answered all our questions and was always very quick to respond. My details meeting was with Melinda and she really impressed me. She really listened to what we wanted and was able to plan everything perfectly for us. We had a lot of requests and she made them all possible, it made things really easy for us! The staff the day of our reception was AMAZING! I can’t thank them enough for all their outstanding service. My family, friends and the two of us were so impressed with everything. The staff treated us like royalty, seriously. Please tell the staff how appreciative we are of everything they did for us. We will definitely recommend your services in the future. The Marquise was hands-down the best option for us based on what we were going to get for our money. Sarah was very professional, helpful, and she was able to answer all of our questions very clearly. Sarah really did go above and beyond to meet the needs of our event. If she was not going to be available for me, she always made sure I had contact information for someone who would be. She was very patient and flexible with finalizing plans as well. My guests could not say enough about the quality of our event. The staff was extremely professional and polite to all of our guests, and the food was amazing. Our parents were very pleased with the overall value.

The wedding was wonderful due to the wonderful staff at McHale’s. Didn’t think it was possible for McHale’s to improve on our previous events but you did it! Had so, so many comments on the food – the best ever! Cannot thank you enough for the EXTRA everyone put into our wedding. Megan was wonderful, so friendly and a joy to work with. I wanted to take a moment and send you a quick email to rave about your staff at the Gardens. I work for Party Pleasers and was the DJ this past weekend for the Madison/Chan event. I am a full time wedding professional and do close to 60 weddings each year allowing me to work with all of the different venues in town. I can say that your staff has as good an attitude and is as helpful as anyone I have ever worked with. You have put together a great team and that always helps events go great! Sarah was gracious in every way. All of the planning went very smoothly. Sarah has a real Zen calmness that is reassuring. All we had to do was show up and enjoy ourselves, which we really did. We have already recommended to someone else that she use your venue.

The wedding was perfect! Everyone at The Grand and McHale’s did a fantastic job making sure that our evening was beautiful and went off without a hitch! We couldn’t have been more pleased with the service and food. I am coming back for a wedding in the fall and can’t wait to enjoy the experience again! I was really impressed with the initial meeting. Sarah explained things clearly. She laid out the details and the cost of the reception so I knew exactly what to expect. Sarah was very helpful. I have never planned a wedding and was very thankful that Sarah took the time to explain our options. She had great suggestions and made the planning process much easier for me. I very much appreciated that Sarah called all the vendors to set up delivery time. It saved me a lot of time and one more thing I could mark off my list to do. I also liked that when the wedding party, and my husband and I arrived the event manager was there to greet us and tell us he was taking care of us for the evening. THANKS!!! I received many compliments about the food. Many people told me it was the best food that they have had at a wedding. I was very pleased and stress free when I arrived at the reception. I could immediately tell that the Marquise staff was taking care of the guests before I arrived and that I could enjoy my evening. I have already told people that planning a wedding at the Marquise is the way to go. I most certainly will recommend your group to others. A big thank you!

Sarah McHale was really easy to work with and highly responsive. I appreciate how quickly Sarah was able to book us and work with us according to our special needs. The meals were delicious; we appreciate the healthy options and the staff’s willingness to prepare these items and modify the menu selections. The staff was very helpful and ready to assist! Thank you–the planning committee has been told several times over that this was the best staff meeting ever and others have commented on the beauty of the facility and that it was a well-kept secret. I expect that as others are planning for events, they will contact you!

Megan was so wonderful to work with!! Our experience with McHale’s was beyond wonderful. From the initial planning, to the flexibility of the venue/staff, to the banquet staff the night of the wedding, we were more than satisfied with every aspect of our amazing day. Megan was absolutely wonderful to work with. She had a great personality that made it easy to work with her. Her professionalism, friendliness and knowledge of the business made it an easier decision for us when choosing The Gardens for our reception. Whenever I had a question she responded promptly and even brought up things that I had forgot about in the planning process. I really enjoyed working with her, she made our special day that much more wonderful. The Banquet Manager for the evening was absolutely wonderful. Everyone had positive comments about the friendliness and the way they were treated. We had an absolute wonderful time that evening and we are so glad that we made the decision to have our reception at The Gardens. I believe the manager that evening was Kaitlyn, she went above and beyond to make sure Zach and I had everything we needed every time we turned around. She was absolutely fantastic. Mr. McHale, I booked my wedding with Melinda Mathis at The Grand over 11 months ago. My wedding was Saturday, June 12, 2010. I had to take the time to tell you what an amazing group of people that you have in your organization. Melinda was incredible from the beginning. She showed me around, told me different opportunities within The Grand, and even some other locations that McHale's had to offer. We finally went with The Grand because it was so spectacular and I really wanted to work with Melinda. She always made me feel that she was at my service, willing to help in any way, and always happy to do so. During this long 14 month process I have not come across another person like her. She truly enjoys what she does and is impeccable at doing so. She is a true pleasure to work with. All of her emails, phone calls and details leading up to the big day help to put my fears of disaster, that are always in a bride's head, at ease. A few days before the big day I went to The Grand and met Millie and Tiffany when I dropped off all of my miscellaneous items like favors, etc. Both of them were so welcoming and friendly. They seemed genuinely excited to be working my wedding. Millie even gave me her cell phone number in case I needed to drop off anything else or had questions. On the big day everything was UNBELIEVABLE, INCREDIBLE, AMAZING, AWESOME!!! It was so worry free and care free for me that I didn't stress or have to think about anything except having a great time. Millie and Tiffany were so great with Scott and I but also with our guests. I had several people share stories of their over the top service like taking my nephew to the buffet line to get food, they served apple juice to the kids for the champagne toast, and also helping my father in-law (that is in a wheelchair) through the buffet and to his car, just to name a few. If there was anything negative it would only be that the chicken we picked was very spicy and I don't remember it being that way during the tasting. Also, that they did not move the seating board down to the main floor after the cocktail hour. But I got rave reviews about the chicken and I did hear that The Grand workers were walking around with papers helping guests find their seats since the board was left upstairs. I never had a glass that was empty, or a moment without a smile on my face. The Grand looked absolutely spectacular. The whole scene was exactly as I pictured it and sometimes so much more beautiful in person. It was an incredibly amazing night for Scott and I, we were so pleased with everything. I don't know how people are able to do this kind of big event in their lives without incredible people like Melinda, Tiffany, Millie and the whole staff at The Grand. I cannot say enough nice things!! What an amazing group of people that you get to work with on a daily basis!! Thank you for your time, Jennie.

Everything went so smoothly and everyone on your staff was great! The entire staff was attentive and polite and delivered superb service. We were very impressed with the professional and courteous manner of the staff. My only recommendations would be to have the Hall/Event Managers wear name tags. I found in the flurry of the evening, I couldn’t remember their names. It would be helpful so I could ask for them by name. Otherwise, terrific event! I loved how attentive everyone was to me, Dave, the wedding party and parents. It makes the event extra special when the little things are done – food at the end of the evening to take home, drinks when you arrive, etc. We also appreciated that Melinda allowed us to make our centerpieces in the empty room on the 5th floor. This saved us TONS of money and we were so grateful! It is nice things like this that make me want to recommend The Grand and McHale’s for any of my friend’s events!

To All at McHale’s Catering, On behalf of the Mastin/Schlabach families, we again wanted to thank you for the wonderful meal served at Matt & Rachel’s May 22, 2010 wedding at The Behringer Crawford Museum. Not only was the food excellent, but your staff did an incredible job. Many people told us it was the best food they’d ever eaten at a wedding. We were so impressed with how wonderful the evening turned out. The staff was great and very accommodating. There was one staff member however, that stood out amongst the rest. Her name is Phyllis Davis. Phyllis went over and above to insure that my family wanted for nothing. As I later found out from friends and other family members, she also went over and above for them. Dear Mr. McHale, My name is Amy Reeves Dickinson and I had my wedding at The Grand on May 1st, 2010. I am writing to tell you what wonderful service I had from your company. Megan Foltz was my wedding planner and she was there every step of the way. She would listen to my ideas, she would send reminder notices, and she helped me make important decisions when I needed advice. She met me several times to go over things. I had an idea about doing Kentucky Hot Browns for an appetizer and she got with the cooks and made it happen! She made my wedding run very smoothly and I believe went above and beyond her duties. She made sure that every detail was taken care of so I didn’t have to worry. Every time we had a meeting with her she was so pleasant and happy to see us. She made my mom and I feel so special during this exciting time. Megan would always ask how other things are going, invitations, my wedding dress, and etc. I had issues with my wedding dress being ordered wrong and she would always listen to me and reassure me that I didn’t need to worry about the reception and I could focus on the wedding dress crisis. Megan Foltz was just so amazing and when I tell my other friends who are married they can’t believe all the things she did for us. They always say they wish they had a Megan. Also when I got back from my honeymoon I had a handwritten letter from her thanking me and hoping I had a great time on my honeymoon! I also want to tell you about Millie Woolwine. What a great person she is!! I met her when I went down to The Grand the Friday before and she was such a happy person. I left that afternoon feeling like I have known her for my whole life. She was genuinely happy for me and wanted to make sure that whatever I wanted I got. She went through the whole night with me and went over ever detail. Millie even gave me her phone number incase I needed to get a hold of her the day of, now that is above and beyond in my book! The other reception servers were awesome, if I asked them for more Champagne; I had a new glass in my hand within a minute, now that’s service!!! All of my guests were wowed by the service they got at the Grand, it made them feel so special which made me VERY HAPPY!!! During my wedding reception I was so blessed to have my wedding run perfect and I owe it to your company and staff. I can’t tell you enough how much your staff made my fairytale come true!! Megan Foltz was amazing. She answered every question we had; she took time to talk with us and really listened to my thoughts and ideas. Without her my even would not have been above and beyond my expectations. Because of her, Millie and the rest of your staff I have not stopped bragging and spreading the word about how awesome The Grand is!!! Everybody at my wedding was amazed by the staff kindness, how beautiful The Grand is and the service!!! I received better service at my wedding than I did on my honeymoon.

Megan was fabulous! She was very well informed and listened to everything we had to say and never said that something wasn’t possible. It was great to have someone on our side that had done this before and could offer great advice. It was so nice to have the staff come out and greet us when we arrived. They told us what the plan was and had everything taken care of before we got there. There was always a staff member there when we needed something and they responded to our every need.

Melinda listened carefully, she offered helpful suggestions, and was very thorough with the planning information. Millie was delightful to work with regarding last minute set up and follow through on the details which were previously planned.

We have received so many compliments on the wedding and people raved about everything. A lot of people had not been to the Grand before and people loved it...also loved the food! The booking process was swift and friendly; the planning process was handled VERY well. Nice work!!

Amy Brewer was great to work with and calmed my anxieties! Last minute questions and requests were addressed as smoothly as the initial ones. John greeted me the moment I arrived and went above and beyond … Phyllis took great care of us and went out of her way to make sure I had what I needed and things were going as we wished. My initial apprehension about being in the downstairs room was quickly quelled. The room looked very nice and the service was great! We also worried about parking with two events at the facility but, as promised, it was not a problem and the staff made an effort to accommodate our elderly and handicapped guests.

Sarah is always so incredible to work with. She is professional and efficient. This was such a great event for the students. The dinner was excellent and a great addition. The banquet staff were on top of things. They were great with the students, friendly and helpful. The students had a wonderful experience. We will repeat the process next year and are happy we have made this change in our prom. Thanks so much for all of your hard work and patience.

Amy did a great job keeping me informed of each step of the process. She was eager to make sure that the event would be enjoyed by my guests. She succeeded! She allowed my parents to attend an additional tasting because we were from out of town. That was wonderful because we actually went with food from the larger tasting. They even helped my family load cars so they were out of there quickly. I also appreciated the staff packing up desserts for us to take to the hotel. It was nice to actually enjoy our wedding cake! Once again, the staff/team at McHale’s delivers! This is my 8th or 9th event over three years and each one is better than the one before. McHale’s is incredibly easy to work with. I have done 12 different events from fundraisers, training sessions, reunions, catering offsite, and parties and every event has been fabulous. Each of the staff take a personal interest in our events, and really help make it pain free for me. From Chuck, Jenny, Melinda, John, Phyllis, Tiffany, Lynn, Brian and the rest of the team really anticipate our needs and are genuinely great people to work with – everyone totally exceeded expectations. New Perceptions is very satisfied with the staff of the McHales Hospitality Group. We are also very grateful to have received the first grant which allowed New Perceptions to think outside of the box and create what could easily become the signature event of New Perceptions. Since the inception of this event, the Our Children Achieve Lunch has generated over $150,000. This is amazing and very much needed to help us continue the mission of serving children AND adults with developmental or physical disabilities. This would not have been the case without your grant. Sarah was Great and AWESOME to work with. The whole wedding process is so overwhelming but Sarah made everything so easy and answered all the questions I had. I called her a lot with many questions and every time I called she was patient and informative. Everyone was GREAT! You can tell everyone there works hard and has fun too! Our wedding was PERFECT and everyone had a great time and we got soo many compliments on how beautiful everything was! The food was AMAZING! That is another thing everyone loved! The contract showing all the information and room layout was a big item to me. I read through everything on the pages and knew what I needed to do to make sure everything was covered. This was excellent. If you read the contract and items listed then you knew what was expected. The presentation of the food was great. I liked the carver for the meat. I don not like meat presented in a buffet pan and this added a special touch to the meal. It makes the meat look fresh. I would have no doubts having McHale’s (again). I received so many compliments from everyone. They thought that everything flowed nicely and there was not a lot of down time. Everything kept moving. People liked having the wedding and reception in one place.

Since we planned the wedding in about seven months, we had to make big decisions quickly and the amenities of The Gardens helped us make a quick decision. Of all the vendors I worked with in planning the wedding, McHale’s was by far the easiest. Most vendors had a list of things that I needed to do for THEM, but McHale’s had a list of the things that THEY were going to do for ME. Many of our family members and the bridal party commented on how the staff was extremely helpful with those involved in the wedding … always asking if there was anything the bridal party (including myself, the bride!) needed. We were just more than happy with everything about the reception. The room looked beautiful, the food was delicious and the service was exceptional.

We were VERY pleased with what McHale's had to offer and were continually impressed with the great efforts made to ensure that our needs and requests were met. Dear McHale’s staff: I am not sure I can adequately express my gratitude for the outstanding job you did for us at our daughter’s wedding on October 24th. The entire day I felt so pressured to make sure everything was going well; at the church, at the small, informal reception afterward and everything in between. As soon as I got to The Gardens, however, everything was taken out of my hands and put into the extremely capable hands of that evening’s staff. There was nothing that they did not take care of even before I knew it needed to be done. The room was beautiful, the food outstanding and the night went off without a hitch. I received many, many compliments that night and continue to even now, weeks later. The best one I received however was: It was the most elegant yet least stuffy reception to which I have ever been. - I don’t think you can ask for more than that. As I said, these words seem so very much less than what I want to say. I am sure you are all well aware of the pressures that come along with planning a wedding. There is nothing I would have done differently for the reception and that is a great thing to be able to say after the day you planned for a year finally comes and goes. Amy, I just wanted to let you know that the wedding went well, the food was excellent (which is still getting great reviews from our guests) and your staff was superior! I really dreaded the thought of having to break everything down after the wedding, but your staff and Katy (of the Drees Pavilion) took everything apart, cleaned up, packed it and had it ready to wheel to our cars before I could blink. McHale’s staff was very accommodating-allowed use to hold the room for 24 hours before signing a contract. As my mom said, The Gardens Vista Room is the best kept secret for receptions. The service was unbelievable (Bride and Groom’s plates were carried to the table as well as grandparents, very nice touch). The food was delicious-tastings did not do a justice for how good the food was. I would highly recommend this hall (and Megan) to anyone I know. I was SO thrilled with the entire event. Thank you for EVERYTHING Megan. The day was 100% perfect.

We met with Sarah and Megan during our booking process and both were incredibly helpful. They were willing to meet with us at any time (even New Years Eve before the Marquise event!) and help us with everything we needed while we decided on our venue. They never made us feel like we were asking too many questions or taking up too much of their time. Megan was incredible - I can't say enough good things. She responded to all my calls and emails very quickly, always offering to take anything off my plate if I needed help. She coordinated everything so well, gave us guidance as we made our decisions and made this process even more exciting and fun than we had expected. Everyone had the time of their lives - I have never seen a wedding run so smoothly before. I was blown away by Millie and all of the servers - they kept everything on track and made sure all the bridal party and immediate family were taken care of. They even went through the buffet line with parents of small children, helping get plates for the kids and then helping cut the kid's meat and make the evening as hassle-free for the parents as possible.Those efforts were so much appreciated. We received the nicest compliments on the quality of the food, the service and the look of the room. Everything exceeded our expectations. We really can't thank Megan, Chuck, Millie and everyone enough for everything. I never would have thought this process could be so easy and the evening could run so smoothly. We appreciate everyone's help - we were thrilled to have the bar open longer and keep the dance floor going for a few more songs. It really meant so much to us and our guests.
