We met in 2004 during a junior golf tournament we were both working in Louisville. After sharing some Bloody Marys and discussing shared musical interests, a fast friendship was created. Years later we were reunited in Colorado and the rest is history.How did the proposal take place?
Ben's aunt and uncle own a fantastic camp on Parker Pond in Maine. We had been kayaking and enjoying some sunshine on the dock when he completely surprised me with the proposal. His family returned later and we all celebrated with a sunset cruise and lots of lobster!In what ways have you prepared to make your wedding day unique and special to the two of you?
We wanted the entire wedding weekend to be unique. It was important for us to tie in all kinds of things from the places we've lived to the special family heirlooms we incorporated. Friends and family traveled from 16 states to celebrate so it was important for us to spend as much time with them as possible. Our fun, casual event turned out to be exactly what we'd hoped for.What has been the most challenging experience throughout this process and do you have any advice for future brides?
The only challenging element was planning the event long distance. Fortunately, I have amazing parents who were able to be of major assistance throughout the process. Advice- We loved having a short engagement (4 months!) because we didn't have time to second guess our decisions...and we were married sooner!How did you go about selecting your vendors?
I'm an event planner, so I definitely did my research when selecting vendors. We had been given some recommendations and had some existing relationships. We couldn't be more positive about the quality and professionalism of all of them.View More Featured Weddings:
